This one has been on Netflix for months, but if you passed it by, I definitely recommend going back and watching it with your family. My kids love this movie and have watched it multiple times. It is sweet, heartwarming, and uplifting.

If you haven’t watched this one yet, hurry up because it’s leaving Netflix soon.

Spiderman: across the spiderverse

This one I am not recommending based on personal experience, but solely by reddit reviews and rotten tomatoes reviews. It was rated number one movie for this year on reddit and had a very high score on Rotten Tomatoes.

Road to el Dorado

With a beautiful soundtrack by Elton John, I saw this movie in theaters when I was a kid and it was an instant favorite. Certain parts may be scary for young kids (but not really more than most other Disney/Pixar movies).

Kung Fu Panda

Rated highly on Rotten Tomatoes – 87% from critics, 83% from general audience. Netflix also has the sequels. Charming and typical kids movie, nothing profound.

“It all whizzes along at an invigorating pace and there’s plenty to please a young child but if you’re looking for the kind of insights that made Ratatouille such a feast, you’ll have to wait for Pixar’s next.” -Sydney Morning Herald

Klaus

Very high reviews on Rotten Tomatoes from critics and general audience alike (9.5/10)

Sea Beast

I saw this personally and I did not expect to like it, but it was very impactful and intricately woven. I felt it was unique and carried some very deep themes that will be appreciated by adult viewers. Great reviews (95% from critics and 85% from audience).

“It becomes a surprisingly emotional journey pitting duty against justice and memory against doctrine to find out that being a hero doesn’t automatically mean you’re right.” -Jared Mobarak

Based on the well known children’s book – I have not seen this one yet but it had great reviews on Rotten Tomatoes.

matilda (The Musical)

Based on Roald Dahl’s classic children’s book, turned into a movie musical. It received a 93% critic review and a 73% audience review on Rotten Tomatoes, giving it a solid reliable average review of 8/10.

The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar

95% critics, 82% audience. A screen adaptation of Roald Dahl’s book, plus three other shorts based on stories by Roald Dahl.
