Low Calorie Mixed Drinks You Can Make at Home

Low Calorie Mixed Drinks You Can Make at Home

Looking for super simple, easy mixed drinks you can make at home in a snap? Here’s a list of cocktails anyone can make at home in under two minutes – including drinks that are low carb friendly, relatively budget friendly, and fool proof. Let me know if you’ve come up with any drinks of your own that you can make in just a minute or two at home, I’d love to hear.

If you are at a restaurant or bar, you will notice that most drinks have about 300 calories. If you have two drinks, that’s the equivalent of eating a whole meal, not to mention that it’s empty calories of sugar, fat, and alcohol.

Some people, when they drink, they just have one drink. That’s their dessert, that’s their splurge, they have their one tiramisu martini, and that’s it. How… moderate. This is not my way. If I am going to drink, I don’t usually plan to have just one. That’s why I came up with this list of drinks that don’t contain excessive amounts of calories, fat, or sugar. I stick to these options and it makes the night enjoyable without the guilt and anxiety of drinking the equivalent of half a cheesecake.

A couple notes: None of these have added sugars, but some are higher in carbs from natural sugars than others, and some have a higher fat content and therefore higher calorie count, but are low in carbs.

Coke and Rum (with Diet Coke)

The ideal keto drink – zero sugars, zero carbs, 100-200 calories from the rum depending on what type of rum and whether you make it a single or a double. The Diet Coke makes it sweet without adding the awful amount of sugar that a regular Coke provides.

1 Can Coke Zero or Diet Coke

1.5 oz rum

103 calories, zero carbs, keto friendly.

Easy peasy Sangria Recipe

Using chilled Sangria wine (or another red wine of your choice) mixed with Zero Sprite in a 1:1 ratio, and then add a shot of vodka. If you want to make it fruitier, you can use Zero Sugar Cherry 7-Up

If you have the extra ambition to make it fancy, you can add some cut up apples, which are a fruit that is lower in carbs.

3 oz Sangria wine

3 oz Zero Sprite or Zero Sugar Cherry 7-Up

1.5 oz vodka

Something about drinking sangria makes me feel footloose, fancy, and oh-so-feminine.

187 calories (not including the apple), 3g carbs

Vodka Cream Soda

Using the Diet Coke or Coke Zero again, mix soda with one shot of vodka and half and half. Serve in a glass over ice. I love this because I trick myself into thinking I am drinking a cocktail with Bailey’s Irish Cream, but I’m not. It’s also a nice change up from a typical Coke mixed drink.

1 can Coke Zero

1.5 oz vodka

splash of half and half

163 calories, zero carbs, keto friendly.

Low Sugar pina colada

EA regular Pina colada is high in calories, fat, and has over 30g of added sugars. Either of these versions are much better.

Version 1: Natural Homemade Pina Colada

1 oz unsweetened coconut milk (if you aren’t worried about fat, you can use coconut cream)

3 oz pineapple juice

1 oz rum

Blend together with ice in a cocktail shaker or blender and drink with a cute umbrella.

180 calories, 7g fat, 14g carbs,  zero grams added sugars

Keto Note: In this The calories come in at about 100 from the rum, 100 from the coconut milk, and 50 from the pineapple juice, but all the carbs come from the pineapple juice.

Version 2: Low Carb, Low Sugar using Mix
